2 tests down n one more to go.
after which i have two reports to submit during mid march n right after,another stats test.
freakin tiring!!
just came back from tuition centre.the kids are just so annoyingly adorable,n annoyingly difficult to deal with.its not as simple as so deceive them into reading a few more pages with sweets.the difficult ones doesnt want to b told what to do!n those tht just choose to stay mute.tho the answer was just a mere "yes/no".
got my pay today..2 lessons in the mnth of feb..earned about 50bucks.lol..then again,the money isnt much of an issue cos its the experience tht i wanna gain.6hrs pass really quickly when u are teaching children,cos u nver know what will happen next,with their incessant demands,n attention.i wld say its a job which u gain satisfaction from.
my fav girl is kareen who's really really cute n motivated to study,so teaching her wasnt much of a prob.n she has this "bf" there..just when she left the place she told me tht her 'bf-cliff gave her his colouring assignment which was an orange colored winnie the pooh.though pooh was filled with bright orange colour(instead of the usual yellow,n the colouring was out of the lines,but its the intention behind it.how innocent n sweet..HAH.we just love to tease the 2 of them.there was alot of marking too.but the centre isnt as busy as weeks b4,cos of the poly hols,which many can then come back to helpout.there was this girl called shimin whom just couldnt stop asking for sweets,n she will start narrating the pictures when each flashcard is shown to her.so i learnt alot about herself n her family..n what they like.eg "my sister,jolin, likes rabbit,n i like zebra"..one more thing,
i realise tht kids cant differentiate tiger n lion.fox n wolf.hmm..
guess what i saw at nus today!3 newly opened shops at sports hall area.old chang kee,cheers convenient shop,n new zealand's naturale!!gosh..ice cream!!foodies.amazing.nus is like this one-stop-have-it-all hub.as a tertiary sch,with flea markets/bazaars on almost all the time,gym,track,tennis courts,cafes like coffee club express,dome,munchie monkey,the ucc hall which holds concert(eg for the recent corrine may's concert,n pm's rally,blah..true eh..so to those making uni applications,do consider nus!!
i love knocking on heaven's door by guns and roses!awesome.

busy busy..its the mugger-fest now.
its sem break n there are..3 tests after the hols..the wordy coursepacks r so making me fall asleep.
went for my social work visits yest,one at jurong east and the other at aljunied.i had only 1 hr to do the rushing!!madness.one is a family centre called loving hearts multi-centre,which offers services to the community,does counselling,marriage solemnisation,provides food(lunches/dinner) for the elderly,and closely linked with the SouthWest community developmet centre.this organisation is run by a small scale of staffs-only 5 of them.so the guy who brieved us,does almost everything in the centre..sometimes taking over the duty of the driver,n at the same time working as a counsellor,and some managerial roles.sad to know,tht the turn over rate at social work sectors is high too,whereby after training,these social workers just vanish.ingrates.mayb majority of these pple look for bigger volunteery organisations,so tht there is higher income stability.n majority of the students are females,say 90%!i wonder if there wld b gender role conflicts in future if jobs become more "gendered".

the next home i visited was at cannosa children's home.its a catholic-mission sch eduplex,where the childcare centre is linked with the pri sch,the home(with the dorms),the nun's home,and a special school for the hearing impaired.its cool in a way,cos these children in the heariing impaired sch,who have listening disabilities,have the chance of being integrated into the mainstream education system,just at the pri sch next door.got to interact with some of the kids there.adorable..i like how the nuns/tchers educate the kids in there.They are not spoilt,but are taught to overlook their disablities or the damages done to them(by their family),by reaching out to other less priviledged ones.they are made to wash their own dishes after meals,and during assembly,they turned to the direction where the teachers are standing,and greeted them in unison!(including us visitors)..how polite!!see what i mean!God may u bless these adorable children,and help them to grow wisely,and not take things for granted.the home is creative in rasing funds too,like opening up a cafe in the compound,and also a thrift shop,like a booth,which the stuffs(usually 2ndhand stuffs)r sold at nominal rates.meaningful.
i haf to do a report of 10 to 12 pages long from what i gathered frorm these 2 organisations..its loong. got to know this fellow nus fren thru the visit,n her sis taught my sis back in her sec sch years.small world.

i just joined kumon tuition centre,with candy.i can only invest one day's time,so i go there either on wed/fri weekly..n wad i do is to tution n mark pre-sch kids' assignment.quite interesting..cos the members and tutees in the centre is like a big family,in the sense that they are all related in a way.so i get this sense of warmth there,and not feel outcasted being a new member.the kids are truly adorable..n i guess this job wld b rewarding,having thechance to teach them.next sem,i m so gonna take adolescent psychology module!!

i love hair with volume!gone with the flat hair.
haha..my hair feels good now.
cny approaching in a week's time..hopefully there will b reunion lunch w the morbids.
played tennis today again,after 2 weeks.n finally i see wendy!!
hahha..n every one seems to b moving out of hall.happy for them..
i m anti-hall...hall life robs ur social life away,n u hang out mostly in tht lil island of ur own.
i m feeling hyper lately,n i signed up for art's camp!!(in june,during hols)as counsellor, windsurfing w wanlin,n finally,ladies n gentlemen,campus crusade!!all thanx to samantha,in bringing me back to crusade again.she's currently taking sc w me..
i love all my lects in this sem!!socio is so intersting!!still at the dry theoretical side for social work.its only fun when we apply social work la.
my psyc stats teacher is this really essentric middle-age man who behaves totally like a diva, yet un-sexy,grandma.i mean effeminate.he does surveys from elle mags,fantasize about wearing 3 inch high stilettos,wears pyjamas to bed,n drink milo b4 he goes to bed.n he rambles on about wanting to design this gizmo which can emanate laser to kill hps tht ring in the middle of his lectures,n after which,the laser will cause the owner of the hp to reak in odour for days.weirdo.
i m still waiting for my testbooks to arrive.cant do tutorial as a result.boo
